Event Report: WSF Networking Drinks for NGOs – World Solidarity Forum

On the 21st February 2018, the World Solidarity Forum organised its first drinks for NGOs. It invited Brussels-based organisations working on similar topics for an evening of networking and discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. The idea behind the event was to present the WSF’s work as well as to start exploring potential spaces for collaborations.

The WSF is an NGOs platform that was born from the idea that cooperation between organisations working on similar goals can achieve more by pulling resources when developing specific projects. Our first networking drink wanted to set stage for building up more connections between actors in the field of human rights, conflict resolution, women rights and sustainable global development. Participants were invited to propose ideas for possible cooperation on projects, events and/or campaigns through forms that were distributed during the event. We are happy to say we received many interesting proposals that we will be enthusiastic to follow on.

Our first collaborative project of this year is our upcoming event “Women as Change-Makers” which will take place on the 6th March at 18.30 at the Brussels Press Club (you can register here: https://goo.gl/forms/vXKcUpiCfOsxEy8t2). This will be a workshop led by Manel Mselmi of Eco-Feminisme, who will present successful initiatives that women have set up to have broader impact on society. She will also discuss with participants what are the best ways to set up similar initiatives. Manel also joined us yesterday so that she could introduce the idea to other guests during the networking sessions.
